Meeting Minutes: 14th March 2024

KIMBOLTON & STONELY PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES of the Council meeting held at 9.15 p.m. on Thursday 14 March 2024 in the Youth Hall at the Mandeville Hall, Kimbolton.

PRESENT  Councillors  P Seabrook (in the Chair); Mrs R Lloyd; L Farrer; K Hutchinson; Mrs D Hellett Mrs J Stainer; Ms C Jessup; M Buckley and J Lee .

IN ATTENDANCE    C L Thatcher, Clerk to the Council

35/24   APOLOGIES  were received from Councillors Ms Bradbury and R Gooderham

36/24  DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST None were made.

37/24  IT WAS PROPOSED BY COUNCILLOR FARRER, SECONDED BY COUNCILLOR MRS LLOYD AND UNANIMOUSLY AGREED to suspend Standing Order 36a to enable further discussion of the following matter.

38/24  20mph SPEED LIMITS

There was much discussion on the merits or otherwise of 20mph limits but the general view was that they could be of benefit to parts of the village.

It was noted though, that the points system being adopted by Highways appeared to favour those who opted to include the whole village in the scheme.

It was accordingly proposed by Councillor Hutchinson, seconded by Councillor Mrs Hellett and agreed to apply for LHI funding for a 20mph scheme encompassing the whole of the village, on the assumption that the detail could be finalised should we be successful. 

The Chairman thanked Councillor Lee for his work on compiling the bid.

The next meeting of the Council will take place on Thursday 28 March 2024, commencing at 7pm in the Youth Room at the Mandeville Hall.
